I think of Demna Gvasalia as a very funny person who brings fresh air into the fashion world. What he has done with his collective brand, Vetements, is outrageously genius. He is known for his innovative, trolling attitude. Who could have forgotten the Vetements DHL tee costing 185 pounds?
Now, as a creative director of Balenciaga, Demna thought to troll haute couture by designing a leather shopping bag. No, I don’t mean “shopper” bag, but an actual shopping bag which is identical to the paper ones we use daily.
The bag costs 1300€ and we first spotted it at the Fall/ Winter 2017 Balenciaga fashion show. It may look boring as ZARA paper bags but it is Balenciaga, right? Hey, it also has a big, bold logo on it which is definitely justifying the price tag (being sarcastic).
